Acer è un'azienda con sede a Taipei in Taiwan e dal 2007 è il terzo produttore di personal computer nel mondo.
Nasce nel 1976 con il nome di Multitech ed ha come scopo principale la progettazione industriale e la formazione di ingegneri per consentire lo sviluppo tecnologico di Taiwan. Dal 1987 Multitech diventa Acer.
Il brand in Italia ha la maggiore quota di mercato per quanto riguarda i laptop. Altri prodotti della casa giapponese sono televisori flat screen hd ready, monitor LCD, smartphone, server, proiettori ed altro ancora.
L'Acer è la produttrice dell'Aspire One, netbook concorrente dell'Asus Eee PC che ha riscosso grande successo in Italia.
